Detailed brushwork by khim3ra Detailed brushwork by khim3ra
~NOTE: PLEASE STOP ADDING ME TO MSN IF YOU CANT FIGURE IT OUT OR GET CONFUSED the idea is to create your own and experiment. This was done using PS CS also.
Ok for all of those who asked here is a very rough but effective tut...the only thing i did was simplifed the first few steps to make it easier to achieve the fire without using the brush and smudge to start :)
(next tut) is going to be the gel-like avatar i had until now.

Looks like a good tutorial at first site, but when you begin using it, you see that the settings given in this tutorial are nothing like the real ones the author has used in his examples. It's good to give an idea of how to do it, though.

After actually finishing this tut, I have more to add about it. It is USELESS. I'm sure that the author spent a lot of time writing it, but it lacks actual useful directions. I'm sure that half of the people who have favorited this tutorial have not even tryed it. It does not deserve a favorite.

Ok, wots with picture 2? wot is it used for? and how did you make pic 3? I've tried and tried but my flame just ends up all crappy and shiny and all over the place...

Still. the flame part is good.

well pic 2 shows how the image begun moving them around..there is a bit of color adjustments, smudging involved before pic 3...im not going to tell you how to make art...but simply giving some guidance.

Great descriptions khim3ra!!!
What a way to share - thank you so much.
I know that me and many many others will get alot out of this.
I feel with the better tutorials out there, it opens your mind
to how the artist decided to accomplish an effect.
I sometimes don't even use the tutorial for what the artist was showing me to do - but it gave me an idea on how to achieve something I had been trying to do after seeing how he used a certain layer or setting in the tutorial.
Know what I mean? :S Heheh
Anyways, nicely done! Thanks again!

Man thats ~perfectly worded~ for how this was designed, alot of inbetween work must be done to achieve my end result, but i leave faith in the artist to create his/her own work..this is just guidelines and not much more..just a little push in one of many directions.

Nice idea, and thats it.
Apparently this tut is for advanced uers. I'm not a noob nor a pro.
Some of the parts of the tut where quite unclear, and the end was just dreadful.
After part 3 you jump around too much :P

God nows how you got that effect done cause I sure as hell got something complitely different, and yes I did try more than once. :)

But thank you for helping the community :)

it wasnt a step by step tut, more or less just a rough idea of how i achieve my brushwork...lol the key is self-experimentation it was never meant for all to acheive the exact effect.
